Met1985
Also for he mountains looking at the Euro for the next say 5 days there are a succession of troughs that drop in every other day. No way it warms up to the 50s if the Euro is correct.

The guys in the other thread also had me thinking it was warm, but the 850's look good for at least the mountains and foothills.
WNC_TarHeel
I'm out tonight. Have fun fellas. I leave you with this. "Snow in the South is wonderful. It has a kind of magic and mystery that it has nowhere else. And the reason for this is that it comes to people in the South not as the grim, unyielding tenant of Winter's keep, but as a strange and wild visitor from the secret North." - Thomas Wolfe
jacobr57
The 00z GFS ends up very similar to the 18z. That said, I think it's about time to stop model watching for the most part. The RAP and radar are going to be our best indicators at this point. Good luck tomorrow everyone!
SnoJoe
I don't think temps are going to be a problem. I'm at 22.4 and dew-point is dropping. The cold air is oozing in. It's got that cold dry feel to it with no wind. You barely breathe and you can see it like a snorting bull on the plains of Saskatchewan. Very high streamers streaking across the sky signaling that something's coming. Like a Trojan on a horse, thundering toward battle....clippty clop....clippity clop....... How's that for an ob? I hope my emergency supplies last. It's dwindling quickly. This is going to be fun guys!!

jacobr57
We got destroyed. 15.5 inches. Sweet. It's looking like a foot is definitely not out of the question. RAP returns are looking really good and the Euro held. Would you mind posting the map?
jacobr57
We got destroyed. 15.5 inches. What were temps like? I assume we're all snow, but if the upstate is all snow and 16 inches verifies, that would be truly remarkable. Also, forgot to ask. Is precipitation done at hour 54? I can't remember which one, but one model had it still going at hour 60.
Met1985
Nice looking map. Looks like 10+ inches all the way around. Also not to get ahead of our selfs but the system this weekend is looking more and more juiced.

jacobr57
We got destroyed. 15.5 inches. Any idea when the heaviest precipitation falls? Just wondering, because the RAP has Asheville approaching a half inch only 18 hours from now. I was trying to gauge if this was before or after the heaviest precip. jacobr57
I don't think there's any doubt this is going to be a big one. All you have to do is look at the radar to see that.
HKY18
I didn't get to witness 93' but if the euro solution is right it looks like we'll experience something similar on a regional level. Obviously impact may be less farther north. But this is a monster on the euro.
Met1985
Ya wow at the NAM. Again another step towards the EURO. The NAM flat out hammers the mountains and foothills. Just wow this is going to be epic I do believe.
