Lol exactly. They want the best model solution for them. Hey I don't blame them but you just cannot go against the Euro right know.

You are right, this side of WNC doesn't want sleet but there is legitimate head scratching due to a well-defined CAD signature and a track modeled to go into it. It will indeed be interesting for sure, I'd take a Euro track all day if somehow the entire column could stay below 0C or at least a small warm nose that can be overcome with heavier rates. Either way, mountains and foothills look primed for a classic storm. Might have to head to my parents near Hickory if sleet mixes in too much here.

I was given the go ahead to be able to work from home the rest of the week. i am debating to make the drive to hickory in the morning adn then head back to raleigh this weekend when it melts. i can't decide if i want to do it or not.

Brandon do it! Man Hickory into the mountains and foothills are going to get nailed.

Do it Man. You can't miss out on storm like this if it actually happens.

I have a question, you mentioned some gulf coast convection robbing some of the moisture in your update last night. Do think that still might be a problem?

Ya and who knows a further West track may not even make a difference in precip type. This is an impressive wedge for the Carolinas and into GA. These storms you just never know. I hope everyone get nailed really but the model who has led this storm is the Euro. Also my heart goes out to those people who are in the path of the ice storm. This is really going to be a bad deal.

the cad is not going to stop this thing from running inland the upper lower is getting captured and getting pulled northwest.

I think i'm going to. I may leave tonight. I almost had an orgasm when i saw the euro's read out for hickory lol. almost 1.4 of all snow. unreal

No kidding man. Just get in your vehicle and head up this way, Going to be epic. With that deformation band setting up and I fully expect reports of thundersnow from this storm. Ya the Euro has been hammer the mountains and foothills for several days of upwards of a foot plus.

10-4, just saying what was being discussed. I read what HM said in the MA forum, made sense. Like I said, this is a classic one and I can always head 40 miles up 16 to see a foot or more if need be. Pulling for some one up in the mountains/foothills to break the 18" mark!

Brandon, overwhelming support!.....you really need to pull the trigger on this. This had the potential to be a one of the the most historic storms in our lifetimes for the SE. Hickory looks like it could be ground zero. There are many in this thread that will tell you that you're not promised anything in life. Don't let this oppertunity pass you by! Good luck & continue to post in our thread.

For those of us that have been around since (pre 02) we only had one main on eastern wx, you understand.

The entire state will NEVER be happy. Plan and simple.

We use to have to discuss a storm with MA and New England folks in it. argh

Storm on everyone!

Before my time but I have heard you guys talk about it & it sounds like it wasn't pretty for the SE crew!
