Met1985
Woke up briefly to find 3 inches of snow on the ground and hammering away still. Wow just beautiful outside. Maybe we should be in a Winter storm warning already. Also Mike if the Euro crushes us watch out!

WNC_Fort
Does this remind you guys of Dec18 2009, that was the first foot of snow I had seen in a very long time. Hopefully I will see the same in just a day or two!

jacobr57
All outlets have updated their discussions except GSP?? It will come soon. They've got a lot on their plates with this storm...especially with temperatures in the upstate and to the east of the mountains.

Met1985
I wont post the whole discussion or Watch but GSP just increased the Watch through all day of Thursday and upped Totals to 6-10 inches for a large portion of the mountains. Still would not surprise me if they up those totals when they issue a Warning.

ICE ACCUMS OF A QUARTER INCH AREEXPECTED GENERALLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM TOCCOA TO ANDERSONTO YORK AND MONROE. THAT SAID...AMOUNTS COULD END UP HIGHER...BUT DONOT WANT TO GO THAT HIGH YET. Yeah it looks more like what the gfs was showing timing wise then what the nam was doing with holding it back till early evening.

HurricaneTracker
Just thought I would throw this out there. This the Euro EPS runs...incredible! Very solid agreement with the operational run. My first guess for AVL will be 8-12" of snow by Thursday morning, most of it coming late Tuesday night and ALL DAY Wednesday. This should be an epic storm, and perhaps even one for the record books. WxBlue
Euro ensembles raised the mean once again to 14 inches assuming 10:1 ratio. Of course 8:1 ratio still yield 11 inches... EDIT: Ninja'd
HurricaneTracker
Anyone else think the overrunning precip. is coming in pretty far north so far? Look over AR. Yes, a bit. Looks more like what the CMC was showing from its 12Z run. I wouldn't be surprised to see snow tomorrow earlier than forecast. These overrunning events are almost always bigger than forecast and wider (i.e., further north in this case).

I would take that.
