<Lived in the NC Mounts (Banner Elk, Linville) for 3 years.  March - April always the most fun.

Cold fronts - Rapid changes to Thunder Snow.  High winds.

Enjoy, guys... I'll be watching... checking out those mountain cams Wed/Thurs.

Does AmericanW have cam link lists?

BTW - Anyone mentioning Accuweather or TWC should get a 'pink tag'... since

they can't literally be stripped naked over a fallen oak tree and flogged.

Man it is going to be an active day today. We have anywhere from wind advisories to high wind warnings to winter weather advisories. Looks like we could see sustained winds from 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60+ mph. Also look like we will see some snow mostly right along the TN/NC boarder with 1-3 inches possible. So we go from thunderstorms to snow all in 24 hours.

Yeah guys should be a fun day weather wise for us mountain folks.  I am hoping Met, Joe or K4CF can pull 6" out of this.  Rates should get better as the night progresses.

Ya I like these late winter events because you can get some surprise totals out of these little systems in March. Might be some localized blizzard conditions tonight with the winds and snow.

Just got back in town last night, looking forward to some wild weather today. Love the wild swings you get in March.

Ya Joe March can bring some pretty wild weather. Looking forward to it. Also the RAP looks pretty impressive.

Well that didn't take to long!.....our power is already out! Nasty wind in Weaverville, I bet it's scary on the ridge tops.

Wow and the winds are just getting started. They are ripping here. So far highest wind gust is 31 mph. Also temps have started to plummet. We have dropped 10 degrees in 1 hour. Down to 46 degrees.
