Ya that storm was pretty god here in Haywood. Had some decent lightning and heavy rain. Bring on the severe weather! There will be snow on the ground in a week.

Yeah was thinking about that this morning!  There may be a little truth to those tales, it wouldn't hurt my feeling one bit to see more snow.

Alright, I'm in for one more good blast of winter. Beginning around the first of March, let winter go full retard on us for a couple of weeks. Ice, snow, freezing rain, brutal sub-zero temps, insane wind chills, sleet, thunder snow, blizzard conditions, etc.............

Then, let's wind it up. I want to hear a damn bird chirp. A little color would be nice too. Brown, grey, and white is getting old. My skin is dry and I'm so white I could lay down in the snow and disappear. The dogs are getting fat.

One more shot. Deal?

Lol well Joe spring may not get into full swing until April bud. Hey I bet the birds will be chirping but they may be covered in snow also.

Do any of you guys have thoughts on the potential March 1 storm?

Don't really see anything then looking at latest model runs. The Euro shows the potential of mtn snow next Wednesday. Perhaps that is what you are referring to? In general, which such cold hanging out just to the North going well into March-some hope that one of the waves will phase into something significant locally.

Just because the moisture isn't there on the models currently doesn't mean it won't be in place when the low comes.  I am focusing on the low tracks and up until the past few gfs runs, the next 3 storms were going to track from the gulf up north through the Atlantic or the far southern states.  Imho this is what we need to watch.  The last two gfs runs have shown light snow over wnc for the 26th/27th but I wouldn't even trust that until we begin to see it pop up under hr84.  I think we are in a wait and see pattern where cliff diving should be at a minimum because we have already had a great snow storm!

Yeah Don I think we see flurries tomorrow am.  A 1-3 inch event during the week probably Wednesday morning.  Then after that I think we have two chances at 3"+ snowfalls back to back.

I know our snow chances are still pretty good in March for the mtns. but I'm getting a little impatient, seems like its always another 5 days or another 10 days, we're going to run out of time if something doesn't pop soon.      :snowing:

surprised there isn't a lot of chatter about the 3-3/3-4 storm.  Frank Strait on his blog thinks wnc mtns could get a good thumping of snow that the cold air should be in place for that storm.  might need the storm to track just a hair further south to be on the good ole northwest side of the storm.   :snowing:

12z nam and 12z hi res nam both have snow potential starting early tomorrow morning so I ran bufkit (cobb5 setting) on them both for fun.  The nam gave KAVL .5" of snow and the hi res nam gave KAVL 2.1" of snow.  SREF plumes support around .25" of snowfall so I don't think this is going to be much but it will be something.

It will be snow on my daughter's birthday!!!!  She will love it but I will have to explain to her, no, it will not be enough to build all the snowmen, snow angels, snowforts and snowballs you want.

Radar over middle Tennessee starting to light up. My temp is at 36.7, this could get very interesting around 3-4am. Good luck to all!

Ya not sure if we get anything much but flurries. These systems looks like junk. Both look about as disorganized as you can get.

Well that moisture dryed up pretty quick... Oh well, maybe some nwf flurries

yep this winter has been much better but was hoping for one more descent snowfall before spring sets up shop.  I've always said I would like two descent snowfalls and I'll be ready for spring.  I know March here is still pretty good but with the models showing a nice snow event just to lose them is getting old.  I figured one of these storms coming up would stick but we keep losing them.  We are running out of time with these ten day events.    :axe:
