OceanStWx
Just wait until we have a legit Cat 1..lol. Irene who? I've heard plenty of people along Narragansett Bay say that they are safer from hurricanes because of the Fox Point barrier...

Tick tock for many of these people. Time is running out. It will come sooner rather than later.

I'm not sure people really understand just how much water this is. This is Carol, but most people in the region compare things to Bob. During Bob the water just covered the road in the distance, it certainly wasn't up the eaves on waterfront buildings. If anything Fox Point is probably going to impede the natural route for water to spread out in the bay. The water has to go somewhere.
It's Always Sunny
Just wait until we have a legit Cat 1..lol. Irene who? Hopefully we get a barrage of storms our way next year since this season went on vacation. Tropical Storm Irene was cool to experience on top of Blue Hill, which is my only claim to fame right now considering the fact I was the only one up there at the time. free_man
The big difference between Carol and Bob was that Bob hit at low tide, earlier than predicted. Correct me if I'm wrong. Ginx snewx
Carols impact was also, as is the case with the worst tidal storms, at max tides with moon high impact on currents.

You're right, but my point was more that people point to Bob as a benchmark. In reality it is just a threshold on the way to a benchmark. If that makes any sense. CapturedNature
Thanks for sharing - I had never seen some of those! You mentioned a couple of days ago about running a special segment on the storm - has that already occurred? My folks remember that storm and I wanted to tell them about it if it's still going to air.

My folks remember that storm and I wanted to tell them about it if it's still going to air. It aired Friday at 530 p.m. - I'll check to see if it's on the website.
