PSUBlizzicane2007
I'm hoping for a special advisory upgrading Humberto to a hurricane will be issued roughly 30 minutes before the record would otherwise be broken.

phil882
That's good ole' ASCAT...10 hours old pass Ahh ok, sorry the color scheme threw me off! Either way, it does look like Humberto is getting his act together... for the over/under to make it to hurricane intensity before the 11th, I'd certainly take the under (in that it reaches 65 knots before the 11th). Agree...probably not even 24h to make it to hurricane strength.

AutoPenalti
How exactly is this suppose to curve so sharply to the north by tommorrow at the speed it's going? Kind of curious because It's still moving west, and NHC track states that the NW turn should have started about an hour ago.

TropicalAnalystwx13
ASCAT shows 50 knot winds. Low bias would lead to an initial intensity of 55 knots; NHC will go 50 knots anyways because of the slightly displaced center and lack of an inner core so far. Still have a steadily intensifying (at a rate of ~5kt every full advisory, actually) tropical cyclone.
AutoPenalti
To me it actually looks to be moving a hair south of due West The last few runs did show a very slight SW jog, but I think it may just be a tightening of the developing core. Hurricane season would be so much more fun for you if you learned to enjoy fish storms. Maybe that's what nature is waiting for.
IsentropicLift
Fish storms allow us to conduct research without costing money or lives. Sure it doesn't make for great chase videos but that will change eventually. Was Sandy not a cat 3 landfall on Cuba last year?
