OceanStWx
Chris, You thinking we have a shot late evening into the overnight here? We've definitely got a shot. Would I like to be farther north and west? Yes, but all things considered we're in good shape.
Typhoon Tip
I like this part of their discussion: "....WITH TIME ACTIVITY SHOULD SPREAD/DEVELOP NEWD INTO NY WHERE STRONGER DEEP LAYER FLOW MAY ALLOW FOR MORE ORGANIZED UPDRAFTS.." , because the deep layer would usher that activity our way. Muah hahahaha

tamarack
Ah, SPS. I was looking at SVR. I tend (wrongly) to lump them together. Seems doubtful that any of that bunch reached svr criteria. I wish i could move the house 30 miles NW, Mtns and Foothills are most always the winners The Norway to West Paris axis seems to catch more than its share. Unlike MBY... weatherwiz
Holy crap...across eastern NY into western SNE there is 800 J/KG of Cape in the -10C to -30C layer...that's pretty nuts.

It was definitely elevated stuff last night, and freezing levels were 15,000 ft. So we would have needed nearly 40,000 ft cores to get any severe hail. powderfreak
What's amazing is with all this "instability" that there is absolutely nothing happening over even the high summits. Not even small Cu fields or anything. Not a cloud over VT...and only a couple small clouds struggling over the 5,000ft terrain in the Adirondacks. Nothing over the Whites.
