1.76" would have been an amazing forecast. There was considerable risk of the front not passing until after midnight, so it's understandable why you bumped it down.

Radar shows one last bit of rain moving through. Wednesday's total should be < 0.15" though.

Yeah, I hedged a little bit for the sake that I can recover in the week if I bust. I just wish I could of also thought of the crashing temps too.

Good, I put 0.13 :P:lol:

Yep, I'm not sure why I thought the temp would stay up with all that rain falling. I was also told today from someone who went to OU that (anecdotially) cold fronts tend to come through faster than guidance in OK. That would have been nice knowledge to have a day earlier.

The only way you'd know the temp would crash is if you assumed the front was coming through before 06z. You'll notice that even with the moderately heavy rain before the front, the temperature didn't drop more than a half a degree.

What happened last night is pretty much exactly what I expected, only about two hours early. If I had more experience with cold fronts in the area (i.e. knew that it would come through before 06z), the number I had considered for my low would have been 48F, and I certainly would have gone higher for precip. Alas, once I get behind in a city, I can never seem to get anything right for the life of me. :(
