Thunder Road
57/40/23/0.07" When I was forecasting it looked like the cold front was out ahead of where it was modeled to be, but man, that precip is not moving all the fast.

L.B. LaForce
The front is here, and the temp is tanking! Also a good surge of rain all around too. 10F in 10min..impressive!

wi_fl_wx
Jackpot!!! Nailed the high and looks like I actually was too low on the rain (1.1"). Now I just need the rain to clear before 06 Z because I only put 0.05" for tomorrow. So my move up in the rankings might be short lived. Tomorrow: 55/38/18/0.05"

wxmeddler
i can't believe the 1.32" I forecasted will be too low I can't believe I let my moderation get ahead of me.. My initial yesterday was 1.76"
wi_fl_wx
1.76" would have been an amazing forecast. There was considerable risk of the front not passing until after midnight, so it's understandable why you bumped it down. Radar shows one last bit of rain moving through. Wednesday's total should be < 0.15" though.
weatherMA
Even with all the rain, I'm at 111th overall. I put 0.0" for tomorrow though, so I expect to move down tomorrow. Also the 41 low I expect to be too high.

Good, I put 0.13 ~Sent from a device that cannot speel.
wi_fl_wx
Yep, I'm not sure why I thought the temp would stay up with all that rain falling. I was also told today from someone who went to OU that (anecdotially) cold fronts tend to come through faster than guidance in OK. That would have been nice knowledge to have a day earlier. I was also told today from someone who went to OU that (anecdotially) cold fronts tend to come through faster than guidance in OK. That would have been nice knowledge to have a day earlier. The only way you'd know the temp would crash is if you assumed the front was coming through before 06z. You'll notice that even with the moderately heavy rain before the front, the temperature didn't drop more than a half a degree. What happened last night is pretty much exactly what I expected, only about two hours early. If I had more experience with cold fronts in the area (i.e. knew that it would come through before 06z), the number I had considered for my low would have been 48F, and I certainly would have gone higher for precip. Alas, once I get behind in a city, I can never seem to get anything right for the life of me.

weatherMA
The low is going to be at 6z... Yeah, duh. I totally spaced that until about an hour after I posted that, when I then realized why everyone had lows of 37-39.

OHweather
How low will the peak max wind be tomorrow? With a surface high right overhead and what seems like a bit of a low bias on wind for this mesonet station I may shoot lower than I normally would by at least a couple of knots. wxmeddler
65/33/8/0 Strong inversion and the lapse rates tomorrow should get some thermal gusts going... that's my reasoning for 8 kts.
