Our snowpack was anything but stale up here before Saturday but its a moot point, its all gone now anyway.  Mud season is fully on right now, thankfully that is about to change.

We could get a little suprise tomorrow night. The 12z NAM is putting out 2.4" for KSWF. To bring some of the mood back. :)

Mood flakes would be nice.

Umm yeah.  That's at 10:1 and if the temps are anywhere near as low as forecasted those ratios should be more like 15+:1 so that 15.8" showing in Danbury (closest to mby) would be more like 23-25.

Is that total snow depth including what's already on the ground or ...?  If it's not the 56" at Stowe and the 70 at Mt Washington are pretty impressive.  Woof

Storm details far from resolved imo thus snow depth equally far from resolved. My take on guidance from last night thru this afternoon is this event has increased potential to deliver a significant and cold winter event. It is, however, still to early to discuss amounts or jackpot zones. All I am 100% certian of is I am going to be stacking extra firewood on the rack in the garage before that bitter cold hits.

It's not about how much for me either but I always hope for more rather than less  :snowing:

Yup, gonna spend some time stacking wood inside tomorrow :weight_lift:

Out of curiosity what stoves are people burning? I burn a Lopi Endeavor. For the most part it easily heats my modest 1200sqft ranch. It generally keeps the main living area in the low to mid 70s and the bedrooms a cooler comfortable sleeping temp of 65-70. I usually leave the thermostat at 63 thus it rarely kicks on other then for hot water. Though with this cold pushed on a hefty wind a few slightly drafty windows will push the stove to its limits thus boiler will supplement it. All new Andersen "new construction" 400 series going in in the Spring so any drafts will be gone next heating season!!!

Had my Andersen/Pella Windows/Doors installed a few yrs ago. I would recommend them every day of the week and twice on sunday. As for a wood burning I'm still working on that. Hopefully by next winter!
