Tropopause_Fold
I know...you jhave to laugh at those that claim they have no emotion about it. Emotion = passion and you don't just become a met because your guidance counselor said it would be a good fit for you. You do it because it's in your blood. Might be a little different for the OCM side since you do it because you have boobs. I'm not sure we can consider you metclad then. Tropopause_Fold
Let's keep it in topic. On topic...all the time. Ugly warmth today it's nice out though. i mean 75-80F with no humidity and 100 % sun...while mind-numbingly boring....is about as nice as it gets for the warm season, imho. We had our recent couple of cool snaps to remind us of the step-down, but I'm not up for 58F highs every day yet. 75F and no humidity feels very pleasant...and you can still tell its autumn because the sun doesn't have the same bite it does in July when you get a 75F sunny airmass. We'll get another cool snap early next week...and then rinse and repeat it looks like.

weathafella
Me either but some sort of hybrid with the pattern evolving ???? Time will tell, Kev is scared to death of Oct snow so maybe a tropical entity will ease his fears. Its hard to say what October will bring...the Euro ensembles looked a bit cooler this morning but still very zonal early in October. That leads me to believe that we will have a pretty boring pattern with intermittent cold snaps and warm spells...but not extreme in either direction. We'll see if that changes as we get closer. As for October snow events...I'll just say these years: 2002, 2000, 1964, 1963, 1962, 1961, 1960. Repeat those years to yourself everytime you start thinking 2011, 2009, 2005, 1988, 1979. As long as BOS doesn't report more than a T, I'm fine with 18 inches at my house. Yeah it pretty much goes with what we talked about over the last few days. It does have a lot of ridging in ern Canada down through the eastern seaboard, but not really the NAO domain which probably means more mundane weather here. CoastalWx
That vortex near AK has to be at least a little concerning No, not at this stage. No different worrying about the vortex compared to calling for epic winters. If it's modeled in the weeklies a month from now, than I would be more concerned. CoastalWx
Besides if this were winter, that vortex is far enough west to pop a weak PNA ridge.

Damage In Tolland
Don't be shocked if it's raining as early as tomorrow morning in southern areas as moisture axis pushes north. That might then shift west and there could be some downpours over western Ct and Mass much of the afternoon as central and eastern areas are dry after any early showers. i envision a lot of WTF and Wasn't today supposed to be nice and sunny types of posts from some tomorrow.
