This cool shot was nothing to sneeze at. Recent Septembers have been dominated by warm and humid airmasses. BOS breaking a record low in the month of September for the first time in almost 30 years was impressive. Some closes misses elswhere.

Seasons performing as seasons..this is what is normal...cool to cold falls as we progress thru

36° for me this morning and there was definitely frost lower down, not only on roofs and cars but on grass and vegetation as well.

It's really a recipe for scattered to perhaps a more widespread frost. Dews in the mid-30's, high pressure overhead, clear skies, light winds...

Logan his struggled to get into the 40s in late Sept and first half of October lately....Nevermind 44 on the 17th.

It was the earliest they had been below 45F since 1984 when they did on 9/16/84 at 42F...and only the 4th time since 1917 when BOS was not on the water at Logan Airport. The other two times it dropped below 45F this early were 9/16/64 and 9/14/63.

It's an impressive reading...esp considering the recent September torches.

Sometimes it's tough to gauge them. They've been warmer than I thought with the same wind direction before, yet today they plummeted. 340-350 is definitely the direction to cool them down, but I think we had a nice cool pool on the other side of the CF to tap into. This isn't the first time I've seen them do this.

Yeah seabreeze isn't going to do much with swamp air.

I am guessing you never lived on the open ocean front, the very muggy days were few and far between. Just inland or if you were on the sound, pond or harbor yea but something about the ocean front was different. Salt air, falling asleep to the sounds of the waves, ah those were great times.
