I'll be happy just getting below 50 tomorrow night. If it happens it will be pretty close to the average first date. I've got almost two months to go before expecting any 20s. Needless to say this is the worst spot in the state for any kind of cold.

No--that would be the SE corner coastal areas.

Records for tomorrow/Wednesday mornings at the local COOP are 28/29; I don't think they get there, maybe 32/33. My 15-yr numbers are 28/31, and I've got some chance at each of them, though I'd put it at less than 50/50.

I think you can get it tomorrow night with a better ridge axis position and calmer winds earlier in the night. And 31F seems more do-able than 28F tonight.

DP's really dropped a lot in the hour and a half since this message.

51.6/38

Yeah the dews have been steadily dropping while the temp stays the same... 48/33 at both MPV and MVL. We won't have to fall too much to get frosty. It'll all depend on the wind, but spots that are calm this evening will plummet quickly.

It's felt odd (like mid-late October) late this afternoon to have temps in the 40s with the sun shining, the seasons are definitely changing.

I don't know the topography that well down there but are there any microclimate type places that do better than others?  I know it's pretty wooded outside of the more urban areas but are there any open grassy low lying places?  It's amazing what a little change can do.  It seems like there's a couple of places just over the border in Armonk or New Canaan that were pretty close to 40s last night and seem to fit the bill.

I here you though on getting cold...hang in there!

I had a nice little instability shower come through right at the time when you don't want it to raise my dp's.  I'm around 50 now.  If things dry out and the wind settles later on, it won't take much to reach the 30s here.  I just need to be 49° by 10 or 11 under usual conditions and I'll make it.

We've been dropping toward the level of the steady temps you've had.

Agree on those 40's this afternoon.  I was in Castleton, and it felt a bit nippy as I left with the car reading 46*.

It sure felt like October when I just went up the hill to launch the balloon tonight. We weren't so bad down by the coast today. I got 18 holes in and in the sun it felt warm despite being only in the low 60s. Not sure I would have braved it if we were rotting at 48 though.
