Actually, it's not... huh. I wonder why the contours on the synoptic charts are over.... oh I see why. heh, my bad.

Actually my friend just sent me the machine numbers from the Euro: 16.4C is max on D7.

I love this little section from NWS BTV This afternoon:

ONE LAST ITEM I NEED TO TOUCH UPON, PRIMARILY FOR SNOW LOVERS.
DESPITE EARLIER RUMORS THAT PERHAPS A SNOWFLAKE OR TWO COULD FALL ON
THE HIGHEST SUMMITS EARLY MONDAY, I DO NEED TO PUT A STOP TO IT.
LATEST GUIDANCE STILL DOES SUGGEST THAT 850MB TEMPERATURES WILL
DROP TO 0 TO -2C MONDAY, BUT IT WILL BE WELL AFTER THE LITTLE BIT
OF MOISTURE WITH THE FRONT MOVES OUT OF THE AREA. SORRY.

Lol. Schools in W MA closed due to too much humidity

Floors turned into rinks. That has to be a first

That's crazy--which ones?

My company counterpart in the Great Lakes lives in Kinosha, WI right up from the lake.  I don't know if he took this pic yesterday or if he lifted it from a news website.  But this would be a pretty awesome sight to behold.

never say never, but probably.   We're in the middle of Sept now, gets harder and harder each passing day...BDR hit 90 on Wed whiched tied a record high, so we're getting into record territory if we see 90 again....

Wednesday's 90 degrees was tied for 2nd latest 90 degree day on record for BDR (9/11/1983 also hit 90). The latest was 91 on 9/23/1970. If BDR reached 92 they would have set a record for hottest temperature for so late in the year. BDR has reached 90 or higher only 16 times in September, and only five times after the first week, in its 65+ year history.

Pretty interesting meteorology going on right now... we've got the southerly flow aloft pumping moisture north, while below the inversion at 8-10,000ft the winds are due north drilling cold low level air southward under the warm/moist air.

Temperatures have been falling all day, with 65F at midnight is now 56F at 1pm.  Pretty rugged day with rain, low clouds, mist/drizzle, north wind and temps in the mid/upper 50s.

The VAD shows this inversion pretty clearly... upper level winds are due south, lower winds are all NNW dropping temps across the area.

Sept_13_VAD.gif

Radar echos moving due north while all obs are showing NNW winds.
