CoastalWx
TAN/BOS..all the hottest areas in the region..Even Merrimac Valley TAN won't be. SW wind will moderate them just a wee bit.

Baroclinic Zone
TAN won't be. SW wind will moderate them just a wee bit. I'd favor the SWCT/ CT River Valley areas up to Springfield and over into SNH for the highest readings today. SW winds over cooler waters won't work in SE MA this time of year. I would not put 90F out of question for TAN but 95-97 ain't happening.
Tropopause_Fold
BOS 78/71 already. eh...we're blinded by the season. if it were mid-july, 9AM would be one of those crazy 85 / 68 days i think.

Yeah if we want to see mid 90s we're going to need to see some mid/upper 80's popping in the 10-11 o'clock hours.
CapturedNature
Valley totally socked in right now, over to Quabbin. 72/71 20130911_AMvis.png I was surprised that no one else mentioned the fog. It was pretty dense this morning. 64° this morning at my place. I was surpised at how cool the Willimatic River Valley was compared to the rest of the region. While we were in the low 60s, it was near 70 elsewhere.

Sure the ingredients are there for a torch but I just think the wind direction not being more westerly will prevent a record type day.
N. OF PIKE
We've had measurable maybe 4 times past 5-6 weeks, it's dry. Come up here and check out the fields and woods. Haven't we had issues all summer with MET numbers being too high? If I make it to 90F, it will have been 54 days since my last one. Crazy

It's brightened up quite a bit in the last few minutes. Still totally gray but it shouldn't be long now.

My low was 70.2..It was as nasty sticky a run as I had all summer. It was 64 at my house, Storrs and at IJD but surrounding stations were closer to 70 like you were. I left my house around 0700 and it was clear above 900' but dense fog in the valley. I think it was localized because like I said, other stations in the state were closer to 70°. But the sun is out now and we should rocket up.
