powderfreak
It's odd the perception of dryness, Boston is only 8/100 ths of an inch below normal for the month.Yeah, it's just the lack of frequency I think.I mean we had this discussion a week ago...it could be dry for the rest of the month and you'd still be above normal rainfall. However it just seems dry when you start doing over a week between precip. Up north at home it's the opposite...we've only had 1.10" according to the Stowe Village CoCoRAHS, but we've measured rain on 8 out of 10 days so far this month. But that's our climo year round it seems...with the mountains we rarely go a long time without it precipitating. Just like when we had that May/June/July stretch of like 50 out of 60 days with at least a trace of precip. And in the winter it's the same, we get nickel and dimed to death without big storms. But it can be misleading...it could be a lot of days, but not add up all that much.

When you've had a half inch since the beginning of August, it's dry. It's an odd perception you think it's been wet.
