0z Euro Op has a lot more moisture pulling around the low into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast in the first half of next week (on the order of 1-4 inches) while the 0z GFS Op goes OTS and gives most of the high population centers less than an inch. 6z GFS Op is a bit more generous but still around one inch. Seems like the models are eager to get into winter storm mode.

Euro is usually the moisture starved one so I hope it is right.  It's been dry

Antares rocket is launching from Wallops at 1050am today.  With the clear skies, it should be visible to most of us.  Look southeast.  Unfortunately, no pretty Ian pics in the middle of the daytime though.

Quite a chill out this morning.  I noticed yesterday when driving US-340 west of Frederick, that there is some color coming into the leaves in certain spots.  These cooler nights over the past week have really kicked off the process.  Hoping the colors are nicer than they have been in previous years when leaves on most trees went dull yellow, then brown.  Going to drive out to Coopers Rock when foliage gets closer to peak, to do some shooting.

Hard to believe it was in the mid-90s this time last week.

37F for the low.  I'm not sure, but I may have even seen frost on the rooftops in the subdivision this morning.  Being an elevated surface, it doesn't seem likely, but being a black body also increases the chances.  Could've been dew, I guess, but it did look like patches of frost.  In any event, it was a gorgeous morning.  Yesterday and last night was the best weather day of the year (so far) IMO.

Bunch of us we're standing on the roof here at Goddard.  We could see it, but it was a little lackluster.  Not much of a contrail as Ian suggested.  Launch looks like it went perfectly, though.

Pretty much looked like a plane contrail.  need more night launches
