EastCoast NPZ
And Weather Underground has it looking right around normal. Gotta love those long-range forecasts... Hopefully, then, Wx Underground is right. However, around here it seems the hottest / dryest forecasts tend to be the correct forecasts. I seem to recall Accuwx sniffed out this current heat wave at 7 days range, even if at that time it underpredicted the magnitude (initially, mid and upper 80s). nw baltimore wx
our trees are turning brown at the tips of the branches now too My birches have dropped about a quarter of their leaves. It's going to make the raking a little easier next month!
mattie g
Wow, 13 inches difference, that is a big spread. BTW, trees are turning up this way! Color is really looking good on the ones turning, I'd say the BRP from Afton to state line will be spectacular this fall as wet as it has been. Congrats on your sh*t-brown season happening a few weeks earlier than around here!

nw baltimore wx
My maple is dropping a surprising number of leaves early. For anyone worried about their trees dropping leaves early and whether that might mean a tree is dying, it's actually just the a way of defending itself by going dormant early. They will be fine next year.
