BowMeHunter
Huh? Looks like his temps go from below normal to above normal and then right back to below. Pretty normal stuff. warm nights will skew things along along with enough above avg days in to early Oct.... Cool shots will be brief and meh in to Oct. you want a warm fall anyways for the fake effect fluff.
weatherbo
lame rain event.. lake michigan torching in the 70's off alek's fav beach.. He might not see accumulating snow until in to Jan if his torch fall prediction which looks likely comes to truth. Big early winter coming for the NW sub-forum.Our resident weather prophet hath spoken.

Yep, warm nights always skew things around here, esp in fall, combination of UHI and what Jonger was talking about wrt aerosols being taken out of the environment. I am almost tempted to believe recent trends are not a fluke, and that November and early December snow events will start becoming a thing of the past. BowMeHunter
lol... UHI in fall can't mean a lot can it? lake is natural warmth and factored in.. we just aren't going to see good radiating nights going forward if that ridge is going to run above normal temps and disturbances up our fanny constantly. Jonger
I'm amazed at how above normal the lakes are. How is the water 7 degrees above normal on Lake Michigan with a slightly below the 30 year average YTD temps? My only guess, sunnier than normal weather. Jonger
DT says no early frost in the MW through OCT 10th.. lmao to bad areas already had a frost. Oct 10th?? Why would he make such a stupid prediction, regardless of the fact we have already had frost and his prediction failed before he made it.

It will tack on a degree or two most likely, combined with proximity to the lake. Notice the later first frost dates, which I still think are a combination of the tendency of warmer lake waters in fall due to some recent warm summers and perhaps a bit of UHI effect. Why would he make such a stupid prediction, regardless of the fact we have already had frost and his prediction failed before he made it. What's your normal first frost date? I think he meant major cities like Milwaukee and Detroit that already have UHI and proximity to a warm lake going against them to a degree. Tmp.jpg And I thought a few weeks ago the lakes were right around normal. Surely a torch or two couldn't have raised the lakes' temperatures that much? wisconsinwx
you sure lakes are above, Jonger? mswt-00.gif It might just be Alek's sanctuary on the lake, or they might have chosen the warmest spot on the lake and compared it to the average on the whole lake. BowMeHunter
a few degrees above normal for sure but nothing that can't be reversed easily in fall.. need some chill next month to even things out and a good storm wouldn't hurt. No need to sweat lake temps this early on this side of the lake. now come Nov and we're still torching it could be wise to keep the umbrella handy for us lake side dwellers in Dec. Geos
Regarding Lake Michigan water temperatures; they are above normal overall, but not by alot. Lake Huron, normal: One good autumn wind storm can send water temperatures back to normal or below normal. A real nice soaker today. (best since 07/21) 0.71" to finish. One nice thing about stratiform rain events, everyone in your general area gets about the same amount. In this case UGN got the same amount as I did. 58° for the high. wisconsinwx
You still don't have a clue. I'm not saying I add anything more valuable than most on here, but it seems MidwestChaser gets a free pass to do his schtick and criticize everyone just due to his tenure on the board, which essentially just makes this a buddy network. This is the last I will say, but when nearly half of his posts are just mocking people like Alek, Bowme, myself, etc. it doesn't make a good impression and those members should be allowed to dish it back.
