Great footage and pics of the lake MI action. Have to love this time of year.

Low clouds have moved in here and the temps are responding downward. Looking forward to this weekends free AC. Things look to heat up next week and beyond.

Mid 70s? I'm animating models for the next 15 days and I don't see much warmth east of the Mississippi.

Possibly low 80s on days with sun and when convection doesn't materialize, not the extreme heat much of the western part of this subforum has experienced on and off the last few weeks.  Still, low 80s with more humidity will feel warm after this four or five day cool period.

Lets hope not.... If the temp never exceeded 75℉ till June 2014, I'd be a happy man.

+1

Down to 68° here with a lovely dry breeze.

Its 62℉ and the rain should wrap up soon. Feels great outside.... Probably going to golf 18 holes tomorrow. I rarely golf in June, July or August.

The wide angle pics Geos posted from Skilling's fb page are outstanding.

I'm not usually into the whole waterspout thing, but today was extremely impressive.

About 3 months ago those pictures would not have been possible from Zion. That 5 story parking garage is really new. Great view of the storm from up there.

Should have driven there or a bit further south along the lake front to avoid the rain shafts.

Dynamics of a water-spout are the same as a tornado right? Just a better heat source for mixing? I really haven't read much into water-spouts .

Yes similar dynamics. September is prime time for Waterspouts. Now is when you have the mild air sitting right above the lake and cooler and cooler air masses coming across and creating instability. The wind profile helped to really get a big circulation going today. There was winds clashing right over Kenosha from the NNE and westerly winds.

Full video of what cyclone posted earlier. 3 spouts in this vid alone...

Not just one large waterspout over the course of the video but 2. Really some impressive stuff.

Another video here shows 2 of the water spouts rotating around each other for a couple minutes

Nice surprise storm passed through. Even had a bit of lowering and a ragged wall cloud. Decent. Shook the car. Really exploded over Canada.

That storm ended up intensifying over Lake Erie and dropping quarter sized hail up the shoreline east of Cleveland. For a bit of a while it had a nice mini-bow with it but I haven't seen any reports of wind damage crop up yet. Temperatures were dropping into the low 60's as it moved inland so a surface inversion may have limited how strong the winds got at ground level. Cool stuff.

Edit: Some trees downed east and NE of Cleveland
