May end up being one of the hottest days of the year around the Greater Toronto Area. Environment Canada has issued a humidex advisory and the City of Toronto has issued a heat alert.

YYZ temperature record for Sept. 10 is 34.8C (94.6F) set in 2002.

Currently sitting at 30.9C (88F) with a dewpoint of 23C (73F) at 1:00pm

I know how that feels. That is what it was here at 6pm yesterday.

Higher dewpoints must have been shoved further south/east overnight.

Just got in from washing cars and watering sod all morning. Heat was impressive to say the least, reminded me of mid summer washing as the sun crested the horizon you knew it was going to be a scorcher. Got my 300 cars done in a few hours, watered sod and flew home to the pool.

CLE has already hit 94 which breaks the record and ties for hottest day in the summer. 95 or 96 seem in reach.

CLE actually hit 95 already based on the record report issued a few minutes ago.

How high can it go? 97 seems like a possibility.

Edit: the only time it's been hotter this late in the season was 98 on September 12, 1952 and 96 on September 13, 1952.

So we're definitely flirting with hottest late season temps on record.

Yeah just saw that. Wow. The latest 95 degree recorded in Cleveland was September 29, 1953, so right now although we've broken a record and hit 95 we aren't in any kind of all time territory. Glad I'm in Athens although it isn't necessarily cold here.

CLE at least 96 so far today. The only day now that's been hotter this late in the season was 98 on September 12, 1952.

Yes, so I guess this is rather impressive. 9/13/52 was also 96, so only two times has Cleveland been this hot or hotter this late. CLE has been sitting at 96 for two hourly observations and downtown (BKL) and CGF have been sitting at 97 for a couple of hours so we'll see if CLE has an intra-hour bump in them today. We've managed 90 here in Athens which is warm enough but like child's play compared to up in Cleveland

Edit to add: Impressive mixing across Northern Ohio to get that hot...850mb temps of +21-22C today which struggled to yield low to mid 90's during our July hot spell.
