omg is history being made, will we actually have 5 days in a row with nice sunny weather and no rain chances? Its about time we dry out after this pathetic wetness and clouds. Let the late summer beautiful stretch begin. I love it that it will stay warm for the most the next 10 days with maybe on Friday dipping below normal.

Another cell just south of Westbury looking pretty healthy on radar and moving ene

That one went right over me while it was developing. I had a brief heavy downpour

without any thunder. But the storm has strengthened in the last few scans to my east.

So you now consider 80's as "dog days" in late August and now 70's with 50's for lows and perhaps 40's by Friday morning "warm" in early September? Don't you wear sweaters when it's in the 70's?

The cooldown looked alot more impressive last week-now we're done to one cool day and the other days will be near climo.   With that said, looks like a great stretch of dry warm September weather.   In years with minimal tropical activity such as this one, I've noticed Sept can be a very dry month in these parts.

Id like to see more than a few drops on rain of the south shore of Nassau..im sure a few people here would agree. Its getting kinda ridiculous.

I had exactly three drops of rain this mornignfrom that badass storm. Intense lightning and thunder and also some rotation. (I thought it might drop a funnel) But yeah this is nuts less then an inch of rain since 8/1.

I cant buy rain here this summer while the rest of the area soaks!

Overall the next 5-7 days will average below normal, due largely to cooler nights. Friday has < +10c 850mb air so I think we could be stuck in the lower 70s for highs.

Can't wait to get this wretched humidity out of here, golden period coming up. Should still be warm enough for the pool/beach with full sun.

Was out on the boat when that came through, came out of nowhere. Probably gusted 40-50 mph as I sat under the Wantagh bridge.

Does look very nice this week with bluse skies and very dry.  Thu - Sat (9/5-7) look like the coolest days then id think we warm towards normal Sun/mon (9/8-9/9)before getting some more above normal temps by next tue/wed (9/10-11).  Beyond there the gfs and ecm imply higher heights with ridging into the east coast and that shuld allow for more above normal and potential for late season heat somehwere between 9/11 and 9/15 or so....

I have forecasted highs 80 and above tues thru thursday and 80 sat and sunday...thats above normal...thats warm to me for early september

I think we'll fall short of 80 on fri, maybe thu as well.  Nighttime lows will drop into the 50s thu and fri night in c/inland nj.  Normal highs are between 80 and 82 this time for this region.  NExt week and the middle of Sep look warm.
