What are your ideal summer temperatures?

Let's conduct a poll to see exactly what this sub-forum prefers as far as summertime temperatures and dew-points go.

temp doesn't really matter to me...it can be hot and humid, cool / dry, as long as the pattern is active. prolonged stretches of inactive weather make me irritable. see August 2013.

Mid-upper 70s with low dewpoints. If I'm going to the beach, I'll certainly tolerate warmer and more humid, but for most of my summer activities like golf and hiking, I prefer warm and dry. Ditto if I'm just walking outside to and from the train when commuting for work.

 

The best part is that summer climo has 100% of the days in JJA at ORH averaging from 71F to 80F for highs. So I really want the seasons to act like seasons in the summer!!!

I go for 80-89 highs, 60-69 lows, 55-64 dews. From results, this is a frigidaire forum.

I like it warm, but I have to agree that without activity, it can be very boring.

 

Ideally I'd say 80's for everyday activity with dews in the 50's. Obviously you can't get much severe weather with that, so if the pattern is convectively active, I can absolutely live with temps in the 90's and dews of 65°+. The warmth doesn't really bother me that much, but being realistic, it's not terribly pleasant to go for a jog or play a round of golf if it's a 94/76 day.

Well no one in their right mind runs in the mid 90's with high dews unless you are suicidal.. You do it before sunrise. The only negative about the dews is trying to run in it. I've admitted that

We probably didnt need a poll to tell us that, as much as Blizz wants to believe the majority runs hot in summer.

Voted 70s max, <50 min, <45 dew. I'd actually prefer 65-70 if it were sunny, but in the real world most midsummer days with those high temps are in the mank. And those are my personal comfort choices. Though I despise the heat, even as I complain I'm also glad for what it does for the garden.

Edit: Or, August so far. Temps for 1-18 are 71.3/49.7.

lol at the 1 vote for dp's above 75°.  I think we know who that is.

 

I voted for highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s with dp's <45°.  That's typical high-elevation inter-mountain west type weather or the northern tip of Maine.  I can deal with short windows that we typically get outside of that range.

I love warm and humid summer nights here... nice to get that tropical feel outside without temps being super hot.  (75/72, for example)

Of all the places I've lived, the summers in Tahoe were by far the best, so my choices here reflect average Tahoe summer weather.

For the 3 months of Summer JJA

High  70-79F (Middle of that range.  My daily climo max is about 83F)

Low  50-59F  (Middle of the range)

DP 45-54F  (Upper end of the range)

70-79° F for a high, but I like more toward the lower end of that range. I like overnight lows in the 40s and dews in the mid 40s to mid 50s.

Most of us want seasons in seasons. My average highs are similar to yours, maxing out at 78F. If I were to take a composite, it would be 75/53 or so for July/August and that's exactly what I voted for.

Climo is 70s by day and 50s by night for SNE high terrain and NNE outside Champlain Valley...seasons as seasons.
