Turtle
Note: Our office will be posting a (hopefully) comprehensive website on the Great New England Hurricane of 1938, AKA the Long Island Express, to commemorate the 75th anniversary. We're getting all kinds of photos, articles and interviews with folks that lived through that storm! Coming up around September 14th. Take a look at the NWS Boston/Taunton website around then! --Turtle

Turtle
nice, The Westerly Sun is an great resource on that. Hi Ginxy! We have some stuff from them, but I don't have all the details. I do know that my co-worker has been feverishly going through all kinds of material and speaking to living survivors to chronicle their memories. We also got permission to use photos from Newport and other locations. Think it will be a good resource, and a good commemoration. --Turtle
Sugarloaf1989
The 1804 hurricane sounds interesting as it was the first landfalling hurricane in New England to produce snow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_Hurricane_of_1804
