free_man
The general rule is if they recurve out there you see a trough in the East 6-10 day later. It's a JB rule that actually works. And if they move west you generally don't see any troughing in the Eastern US That to me says any troughiness shown by modeling is likely incorrect not the jb rule...please. moneypitmike
WHOA!!! at the Euro..4-5 day heatwave now Meh. Looking forward to getting back home. Too bad I might experience 80* after such a cool string. . Since the summer's back broke so earlly (mid-July), some bouncing back into warm 80's was to be expected. Whatever comes in, the end is near. For the next two months, the day length is torn to shreds, losing over 2:00 daily and about .4* of sun angle. So, enjoy whatever 80's you can get. The end is nigh. 53.2/

Damage In Tolland
low of 60.1 here FTW. Just did a 15 miler all over town and it was at least 10 degrees colder down around 400-500 feet. I could even see my breath in a few places. Amazing little nuances over just a few hundred feet. I haven't had a low here in the 40's all summer. There may have been one back door in June that did it, but I can't be sure
Damage In Tolland
BOX all over heat as well. LATE THIS COMING WEEK...A WEAK RIDGE FOLLOWS THE REMNANT TROF...ALLOWING THE MAINLY DRYCONDITIONS TO PERSIST...BUT WITH INCREASING TEMPS AND DWPTS.MODIFIED AIRMASS AND BIAS CORRECTED ECMWF TEMPS SUPPORT SOME HIGHSIN THE 90S IN THE TYPICALLY WARMER SPOTS. Quincy
It is damn hot for 4 straight days at BDL. It warmed considerably from yest. They a lock for heat wave nowNope. 12z Euro 2m's hit 90+ at BDL both Thursday and Friday. 00z barely tickled 90 for Thursday. You can bias correct and look at 850's near +15 to +16 and there you have it. Just like BOS said, support for lower 90's in a few spots. It's a safe bet that KTOL won't hit 90 once next week, IMO. CoastalWx
Do you see it lingering much past Saturday? No, it should cool off and dry out it appears. It's still a relatively mild pattern the following week...but nothing really noteworthy at all.

dendrite
You've got normal to below late Aug into 1st week of Sept. I've got above Lines drawn in sand. good luck to all I took it as above normal down to near to slightly above. Looks like the front will hang around after the fri/sat fropa. That's a recipe where I fight the murk for a day or two as the warm air tries to push back in aloft. I think we're done with the fall type weather for awhile...at least low dew wise. I'll probably rack up a couple of days in the 60s for highs due to dead ratters though. We're down to a late April sun angle now...how quickly it goes... Yeah it's not a deal where the front comes sailing thru like Scooter on a Scooner at Ptown harbor in boat shoes and see thru white pants with no undies. Front hangs up and we stay muggy and soupy in SNE while you guys may have a few uglier days

I'm glad I live where I live...I love the cooler summer nights and you're not that much colder than me on winter days. Maybe a degree or two but I make up for it at night when I'm much colder.
