Its warmer and muggier with breaks in clouds.try to find a lake to tan and swim You're right. Ocean beaches are horrible vacation spots which is why everyone flocks to Tolland. Tolland is the last place anyone wants to go to in the summer. Nothing like warm water lakes filled with bacteria.
ORH_wxman
Seems like we get one random day like this almost every August late in the month. Sort of a sign that autumn is approaching...that stiff NE wind and almost "stormy" feel to it. Then we go back to nice days for a while before the first real autumn nor' easter gets us...usually in latter September or first half of October. Ginx snewx
Most of you are aware that nearly every large lake in NE is spring fed and perfectly fine for swimming. What type of lakes did you guys swim in?

ORH also did it on 8/14...the strong CAA day. But I figured you prob didn't make it that day anyway. I can guarantee you'll do it on 9/5 if the Euro is right. There's some growing support by the ensembles for that..doubtful it ends up as extreme as the OP run, but it doesn't need to be in order for it to be a very chilly airmass.
