It's early in the game, but some multi model agreement about ridging developing over AK. This is the 12z GEFS for example.

Also, models seem to want to move a MJO wave east which might be why guidance is trying to push that ridging into AK, but models have been too bullish with this as of late, so buyer beware.

Quick point of context to where we are/changes that have taken place (rise/set times based on Westfield)

-We've lost just about an hour of daylight since Aug 1 (24 days for those who don't know the date. :)), and we've lost an 1:28 of daylight since the solstice

-Sun rose today at 6:08 compared to the 5:15 at the solstice

--Sun sets today at 7:39 compared to the 8:31 at the solstice

--today is 2:38 shorter than yesterday

--lost 6.9* of sun angle since Aug 1,

--the max elevation of the sun today is that of April 16th

Expecting an early foliage season this year.....not sure how much temp has to do with it vs. length of day,  But, the cool weather sure can't hurt.
