I haven't seen a lawn burning brown for years.  I think we had a drought back in the 90s when lawns were brown.

I've had one or two spots brown up (areas of very shallow soil on ledge) during the years I've been here, but nothing widespread.  The cool weather during what should have been the heat of summer along with healthy rain amounts has kept everything green and lush this year.  Any warmth that does manifest itself yet this year will be too little too late to have any impact on lawns.  A winning summer for grasses across the region.

It's happened every summer since the beginning of time to folks that have lawns

I don't usually pay attention to these things but this morning driving into Springfield I looked but didn't see any brown lawns.  Everything looked green.  Where are some good examples of brown lawns?  The ball fields in Stafford all look pretty lush and this Webcam over in Ellington looks pretty green.  I'm just not seeing it.

Yeah you're correct . It happens every year in late Aug/Sept. especially in such great convective seasons such as this. Should be a few big events next week

It takes a certain setup and heat dome can provide convection even into Sept if the synoptics are good enough. If that heat dome tries to push east...then yeah western areas may get some convection. My hope is that it stays far enough west to burn out your lawn.

MCS driven storms are much different than your regular convection as you sit there waiting for a cold front.

Nah, you should learn the difference between BOX and TAN.  Here, let me help.  Enclosed is an image of Taunton showing both.  They are on opposites side of the city about 8 miles apart.  I live about 1/4 mi from TAN hence the reason I use their observations as mine.  Quest for knowledge.
