SACRUS
And to the SW, TTN: -2.2 PHL: -2.4 -2.5 in my backyard. Those numbers will probably finish around -2 or a little less, solid cool August. The lack of radiational cooling really affected the major Northeast centers this month. Most outside of KBOS and KNYC will finish -1 to -3 range Yeah you can see Newark too had some cooler lows which kept it cooler overall for the month than nyc/lga etc.... Which site are you using for your departure.

Isotherm
Sacrus - if you were referring to the maps, they come from the site uofmiami linked. Isotherm
Sacrus - if you were referring to the maps, they come from the site uofmiami linked. Or were you talking about my departure My backyard departure is based off the normal values for sites nearby: http://climate.rutgers.edu/stateclim_v1/norms/monthly/mean.htm The normal values for August for Trenton, New Brunswick, Freehold are all around 73.7-.8. I'm at 71.3 for the month so far.
winterwarlock
I'm amazed at the continued discrepancy between the nam and gfs...nam is completely dry through Sunday and the gfs (most likely overdone ) has on and off rain through Tuesday looking to head down the jersey shore this weekend...can I get an accurate forecast...all the ones I am hearing are so sketchy with virtually no details except saying a chance of late shower Sat, better chance on Sunday and even better chance on Monday. In this day and age you would think we have a better read on whats going to happen this weekend. I don't like when mets gets vague with their forecasts and they are certainly in vague mode now
ag3
12z GFS is pretty much a washout from Saturday afternoon through Tuesday with around 2" of rain. 12z Euro has scattered stuff tomorrow. Widespread rain for Sunday morning to early afternoon and then a washout for Monday. Total rain is 1"-2".

Isotherm
Even with the warmth of today and tomorrow will still finish with a -1.5 temp departure for month here. I haven't topped 87.5 since July 20th, which is pretty darn impressive. Doesn't look like we'll be hitting 90F any time soon. Beginning to think we're done with 90s for the season, save for maybe one torch day in September.

Isotherm
Will finish August at -2.2 temp departure here. With a +0.6 June, +2.9 July, and -2.2, that puts me at +0.4 for the JJA summer departure. In the near normal range. 90F days at 15; I could use a couple more to bring me to normal.
winterwarlock
as I said earlier in the week, the last week of August going out like a dog...warm, sticky and humid to end the week...could it hit 90 on Monday if the clouds break?
