bluewave
The CFS forecast for August has it as the coolest month of summer so far relative to the means for us. It did a great job with the July heat associated with the strong WAR pattern. July Forecast Verification

bluewave
Question...where can I find those departure and anomaly images? It's the monthly forecast issued during the last few days of the previous month. The archive at the bottom has all monthly forecasts going back to July 2011 and how well they verified. http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/people/mchen/CFSv2FCST/monthly/

IsentropicLift
I know that the 12z NAM only spit out 1"+ totals over the next four days but looking at the high res version, plenty of shower and thunderstorm activity will be the story. Someone could easily see a few inches of rain +.

sutherlandfan
End of the GFS Op (Aug 16th/17th) see some humidity coming back into the picture with some dewpoint readings into the 70's. Any chance we see temps returning into the 90's that time period, with the way the patterns look? We need one more heat spell before the Fall. We need one more heat spell before the Fall. with all the cool air in the midwest, I'd say anything outside of a day or two near 90 is a longshot. I could see it getting humid especially if we end up on the east side of the trough with southerly/southwesterly winds...
