WxUSAF
Didn't someone say Accuwx removed their 45 day forecasts? Well...I still see them there. And good thing to! Going to the Oriole game on September 26th and I'm glad to see it won't be rained out!
Deck Pic
IAD would have prob been in the 40s if DPs weren't so "high" last night. I was hoping DCA would get 59, seems like we just missed. Prob haven't been too many 50s for lows in August at DCA It isn't that rare, though not common, but most have been in the 2nd half of course....our all-time August min of 49 was set in 1986 which is remarkable

mattie g
Temp didn't drop much overnight last night. It was in the low 60s when I went to bed, and it only got down to 56 - a temp drop of about six degrees in nine hours. Still cool, for sure, but not as precipitous a drop as I thought we might take. Hence saying that of course it will be hot next week as it is the start of school.

FrederickWX
Amazing afternoon! Can't believe how comfortable it is. Just wish it was a weekend day, not a work day. This time of year, through about mid-October, has some of the most incredible weather days of the entire year. WinterWxLuvr
The first half of Aug for Winchester is -3.5F for the highs, but only -.86F on the lows. Unfortunately, If Accuwx is right, we'll be fortunate to finish Aug below normal. Where did you get that info on KOKV? I've never been able to find a summary. I always have to average the departures. Too bad winter follows. I don't mind the winter weather through New Years. Very seasonal, with the holidays and all. However, I can do without the cold and wind of January and February. If only it actually snowed here during those months, it would be more bearable. Sent from my SCH-I545

EastCoast NPZ
Beautiful evening to sit out on the patio and enjoy a glass of wine. Observed the deep blue skies and in the cool of the shade, it felt just like early October.

EastCoast NPZ
I understand the complexity and challenges of weather forecasting - totally; however, I still have to laugh when I check out Accuwx's extended-range forecasts. Yesterday, it showed a virtual heat-wave for next week and basically through the rest of the month. Today's version still has heat for next week (though slightly cooler upper 80s instead of low 90s), but the temps for the week after next have dropped by at least 15 degrees for most days. What is the point of an extended-range forecast that can vary with such magnitude in a single day? I know that someone will point out that the extended-range is simply computer output, but they put it out there to the public. For what purpose, I do not know. I just hope today's output for the rest of the month verfies. Another beatiful morning. Low of 50 at KOKV.
MN Transplant
Up in the poconos. 48 right now. BWI pulled a reverse DCA this morning. Lowest ob - 56. 6 hr low - 53. 62 @ DCA. Harder to get low there without the breeze. I was similarly a couple of degrees warmer than yesterday.

EastCoast NPZ
Has anyone heard from Subtropics since yesterday? With this cold wave, I'm worried that he's succumbed to hypothermia. Let this be a reminder to everyone to check on your neighbors. With temperatures this extreme, if the heat goes off even for a second, it could be fatal.
