It rained last year on Sunday @ Ezoo it was awesome felt so good! Best 3 days of summer! Enjoy wish I wasn't working this weekend :/

nice! i was planning on going last year but was too busy...

we're busy this time too, we all compromised and glad everyone's free on Sunday--lineup is pretty good this year as well...

Lol ill be there too - It will prob be a day similar to yesterday but not as wide spread rain fall. (more rain to the west)

- Left over storms in the AM and PM storms

oh nice!!! are you going 3-days or just sunday?? yeah that would suck if we get drenched and the place gets all muddy... now the 12z models continue to show rain but it's hard to figure out (just by basing on 6-hr precip) if it's continuous light rains or bursts of moderate rains that pop in and out of the area??

The ridiculous dry continues here!! Maybe I notice more because I am a landscape designer and half my installations from this season are suffering. I was out in Western Suffolk (South Shore) and the trees were in even worse shape then here in Nassua. It seems like this area has been in the ring of fire since June. Jersey soaked, CT soaked, HV soaked.

That's how it almost always is on the south shore in the summer. It can often be a mini drought down here because we miss out on daytime/instability storms and often the more organized storms die out when they get here. Severe storms are the kind I expect least out of here on Long Island.

Yeah, bone dry here. Amazing how the north shore is having no problems.

Rainfall June 2013 - August 2013

June: 9.57"

July: 6.38"

August: 3.53"

Summer rainfall is a very variable thing and tends to even out over the course of time...though the ocean will generally promote stability and discourage the development of cumulonimbus clouds.
