So nice to hear mets talking about an extended period of deep summer coming back. The thing us though I think folks would have preferred we had it thru all if August and transition to a cool pattern in Sept when it actually would be fall. This is exactly what we worried about

I don't have a problem with significantly below normal temps and dews for all of Aug, then at or slightly above norm temps for Sept. More of the same extended "cool summer" to me.

But once the Davis you have tollandizes those slightly above climo temps and dews in Sept, I'm sure that will be enough to call it a win after the miss on the "20+ days of high dews" streak that folks are supposed to be sweating through right now.

It seems the only posts you make are about me or quoted at me. Interesting, odd, and certainly creepy

What? The mean has like 14C at 850. WTF is he talking about? One or two weene ensemble members? You can find one or two weenie members in any run.

17-18C is really the record for 850 temps at BOS 8/23-25? The weeniest members still are below 80F for 2m temps...granted 2m temps suck a d5, nevermind d14, but it seems like a bit of a reckless thing to post out to the public. Dangerous times I guess.

Thanks for the link though Tim.

Yeah the link was worth the garbage tweet.

My pool will be freezing when I get home

I am supposed to go to the Poconos August 19-21 where my parents have a lake house, but I worry the water is starting to get too cold for comfortable swimming, especially longer swims like going across the 80-acre lake. It is supposed to be 46F Wednesday night and 48F Thursday night.

At 1600' elevation, I understand that summer ends quickly, but it still seems early for mid 40s. Averages do drop rapidly in August though as the longer night allows the high valley to radiate. July averages peak around 78/57 but are down to around 74/50 by the end of August I think.

The more recent averages have a peak of 77/56 and end up at 73/52 by late August. I imagine this is similar to places in the southern Berkshires. There are always a few nights in July that reach the 40s but it is much more common by late August when you need a sweatshirt by dinner time many nights. Love life in the mountains.

Nobody else makes the outlandish, attention-seeking claims, observations, and calls that you do. You want attention, you're getting it. If I didn't try to have fun by responding to you, I'd just stew in my annoyance.

Good atmospheric conditions for viewing the Perseids tonight for the whole northeast, if you can avoid light pollution. I went into the hills southeast of Buffalo tonight-- a decent number were visible. We're supposed to get clouds on Sun-Mon nights, but things look pretty good for much of SNE for the shower's peak.

Yeah, I saw about a dozen from my neighborhood, and a few of them were incredible.

Perfect viewing conditions... just a little chilly.  (54 degrees right now)
