moneypitmike
BOS running -1.6 for August. By the end of next week that departure should be similar. Will August come in below or rebound in the 2nd half? Stick with persistence. That's how we fell into this God-forsaken drought after all. I hope the cooler/dryer conditions will have taken hold by dawn tomorrow out this way. Be nicer for my race. 68./68 .35"
CoastalWx
You should watch Return of Jaws on Discovery, very educational. I doubt it was a sunfish with the spotter network they have in place. We had to tell lots of people to get out of the water every year because of sunfish scares. We would take the lifeboat out to see if it was a sunfish. I have been in the water when a 6 foot blue shark was nearby, not fun. But in recorded history no one has ever been bitten in RI waters.I would be nervous on the cape if seals were nearby. There are some 18-20 ft whites cruising those beaches. It was a sunfish.
CoastalWx
You can see where the convergence is on radar just south of Albany. That should extend ENE into southern NH this morning I think.

CoastalWx
lol i don't know how someone can't tell those things apart. I saw the video...it was flapping its fin around. I'm no shark expert....but I don't think they do that. Everything with a fin will be flagged a man eating great white this summer and mass hysteria will ensue. LOL, we used to pull swimmers out, check it out then business as usual. Shark week is awesome though, fantastic videos all around, man there are some monster sharks in the abyss East of Japan. Ginx snewx
No, I think they let them back in an hour later. Pretty standard then, happens every summer. From the shore it can be hard to distinguish sunfish and always prudent to check it out especially since that attack last year.

amarshall
It seems a major overreaction to me given how rare attacks are. I imagine these are the same people that see no problem texting and doing 80 in their suv in the snow. Piss poor risk assessment. Cows kill 100 people per year. Sharks 10. moneypitmike
July 2014 LOL the only high dews days we have had since July 20th have been rainy days. But don't forget the oppressive temperatures. I last hit 80* on July 22 (20 days). I wonder if I can make the month of August without 80. Probably won't, but it would be fun. 72.8/
