I doubt even a quarter inch. It wil be over soon. Its just something nice to look at. The video is almost uploaded.

I sort of know how you feel with this one. You have the lack of moisture to keep it going while I have the lack of cold air. If it was just a little colder here, it could have been a nice surprise...especially since I already had sleet and a few wet flakes so I know it was close. For you, It's a shame this band wasn't a little further north, you would have gotten pounded..but at least you saw that...more than I can say and I'm jealous lol. Not sure if you saw my post on the last page, but i've picked up over a half inch where the models showed a tenth or less or in some cases a few hundreths. If that happens somewhere over nc in the cold sector, someone is going to be very happy.

Proabably already posted but:

INTERESTINGLY... BUFR SOUNDINGS FROM THE NEW NAM SHOW QUITE A BRIEF

OPPORTUNITY FOR MEASURABLE SNOW IN CENTRAL NC... FOCUSED A FEW HOURS

EITHER SIDE OF 00Z. WHILE PROFILES APPEAR COLDER THAN MODELS WERE

SHOWING YESTERDAY (A GOOD THING SINCE IT REMOVES THE AMBIGUITY AND

UNCERTAINTY OF A DEEP NEAR-FREEZING ISOTHERMAL LAYER AND THE

DEPENDENCE ON VERTICAL MOTION AND PRECIP RATES TO DETERMINE

PTYPE)... IT STARTS OUT TOO DRY IN THE LOW LEVELS AROUND 21Z FOR

MUCH MEASURABLE PRECIP... THEN SATURATES DEEPLY AND SUFFICIENTLY AT

00Z FOR A BURST OF MODERATE SNOWFALL... AND THEN BY 03Z THE

DENDRITIC GROWTH ZONE ALOFT DRIES OUT QUICKLY INDICATING A

TRANSITION TO DRIZZLE OR FREEZING DRIZZLE BEFORE MIDNIGHT. WILL NOT

ALTER CURRENT WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY AT THIS TIME... BUT ALL TOLD

THIS MAY BE A MORE QUICK-HITTING EVENT THAN PREVIOUSLY INDICATED.

Why can't it be, "But all told, this may be a more long-lasting event than previously indicated."

this is heavier than the snow I saw last year at this time. Awesome. Porch is covered in slop now, its pure snow, No sleet. Uploading a vid. of thesilver :pepsi: dollar size.

Nice good to see you are getting flakes there. I have my fingers crossed I get a little surprise but I doubt it LOL.

no. Still 34.

thanks but I know it won't last long. I'm just barely getting clipped, further east is set for much longer I think.

Just peeked out and pure snow, HUGE flakes

i was about to say, maybe the snow is afraid of being pulled over by Cleveland County Sheriff (like me), but i guess not..congrats.
