Amos83
Looking at the GSP radar is looks you can see returns moving almost slightly east of north up from Greenwood toward Spartenburg. Hopefully that will transition upstream and start to get the returns to move more north and west of CLT over time.
FoothillsNC
this time last year, to the hour, I was on here looking for snow and sleet as well. Some things never change. That was a painful miss of just 15-20 miles to my north and west on the good snow. Still widely scattered pellets and drops. So far, nothing much. Lookout
I've had a lot more rain than the nam/gfs have been given me, It's been absolutely pouring that last couple of hours and have picked up 0.50 already. And radar shows no real let up for a while with a persistent southwest to northeast band that isn't moving much. GFS absolutely blew it here as a number of runs showed only a hundreth or two and the last one 0.10. It also was way way off on the timing, much earlier than it was showing. What little precip it had didn't start until after 18z. It's been so heavy In fact, there has been sleet mixed in at times and I think I've even seen a few wet flakes. Pretty impressive given the ffc observed soundings showing a very deep warm layer..unless it's being eroded some with all the heavy precip...which wouldn't be surprising since it's much colder just north of here and there is a pretty deep northeast flow. Otherwise just a cold rain with a temp of 36. Could mean there is going to be a band of heavier snow/sleet somewhere over the carolinas...more so than advertised. 12z nam has a decent handle on it via it's reflectivity and you can see it's a narrow area. But someone might get lucky downstream.
snowblzchance in CLT
A couple of questions: What's the best site to get current surface and upper level maps? Any thoughts on the energy diving in from the plains? TIA
tazaroo
I'm starting to have radar hallucinations. LOL Being that I live in Randolph county, NC we look to ride the fine line about the same as Charlotte as far as precip goes. I did think I saw a slight and I mean slightly more North jog in the last 30 minutes or so. This storm has been so painful!

You should stay all snow Robert as long as you can get precip up your way. It was rain here 30 mins ago but it's mostly sleet now and a little snow. Temping is back to 34 from 37 earlier.
