FallsLake
As others stated RDU is forecasting 1" to 2" inches for the Raleigh area, but they are still not sure how this will evolve: From this mornings discussion: >>>> ALTERNATE SCENARIOS: IF THE SHORTWAVE CURRENTLY IN IDAHO/MT (DIGGING SOUTHEAST INTO THE UPPER MIDWEST) IS PUSHED A BIT FURTHER SOUTH/WEST BY THE SHORTWAVE CURRENTLY DROPPING SLOWLY SOUTH FROM SASKATCHEWAN/MANITOBA...THEN THIS FEATURE COULD END UP DIGGING INTO TN/GA/SC OVERNIGHT (VERSUS KY/VA/WV AS ADVERTISED BY THE 00Z MODELS)...RESULTING IN MORE PRECIP ACROSS CENTRAL NC...WITH PRECIP ALSO EXTENDING FURTHER WEST INTO THE WESTERN PIEDMONT. CONSIDERING THE RAOB NETWORK IN CANADA IS RELATIVELY COARSE COMPARED TO THE LOWER 48 (EVEN THE 00Z MODELS MAY NOT HAVE THE BEST HANDLE ON THE AFOREMENTIONED CANADIAN SHORTWAVE)...THIS SCENARIO CANNOT BE RULED OUT. CONVERSELY...PRECIP AMOUNTS COULD BE LESS AND FURTHER EAST IF THE IDAHO/MT SHORTWAVE IS LESS AMPLIFIED AND DIGS SOUTHEAST THROUGH THE SOUTHERN OH VALLEY...OR FURTHER NORTH THAN WHERE THE MODELS CURRENTLY DEPICT. NCSNOW
Nice! Get those temps down and some heavier echoes above and who knows. Just woke up and looking at radar you should be getting some precip within an hour. Atlanta has some good echoes rolling through at the moment. What is your temp? Brick Tamland
I guess an inch or two is better than nothing. But it still sounds like this morning that most don't have a good idea of what is really going to happen with this system.
