Sure could use some rain in the drought ravaged LAF, but looks like the storms tonight will miss well north.

Look like the line is sinking south. Activity south of Kankakee may be heading your way.

Interesting to note: Lake Michigan is on average -8.9° compared to this time last year.

Gotta cut into this massive 1.38" deficit we've run up since June 1.

0.70" at LAF. Hopefully that cuts down on the daily dust storms.

;)  :D

For real though, with the missing rainfall/obs from earlier...that probably puts LAF at around normal for summer. Ho hum.

FWA has received a bit more than their normal August rainfall in the past two days...3.75" for Aug 2-3. Normal August rainfall is 3.64".

Also, broke a daily record at FWA...and it was the 4th wettest August calendar day on record.

4.93" on August 1, 1926

4.78" on August 26, 1899

3.88" on August 9, 1957

3.59" on August 2, 2013

3.40" on August 20, 2007

If we don't drop below 66 through the end of the day, we will break an 11 day streak of below average temps. High has been 82 (2 degrees below avg), low has been 66 (2 degrees above avg) so the daily stands at 0 right now.

Exciting times this summer is, eh?

It's been pretty boring, so I guess this is what it has come to. Already down to 66 so doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Pleasantly boring temperature-wise, which is cool with me. Pun intended.

Alas, since the late March snowstorm...it's really been a snoozer in the LAF. Severe weather has really blown the past couple of years.
