Powerball
And funny enough, DET made it to 90*F but DTW only made it to 87*F. Yet for all official intents and purposes, the high was 87*F.
Chicago Storm
Looks like LSE and MSP both hit 96°, maybe a 97° for an intrahour bump. 99° at DSM. 97 at both LSE and MSP.
Chicago Storm
Considering that was from another day, nice job cherry picking. There are days when it seems questionable, but it was legit yesterday and today, I am more remarking about how much it jumped today right before the sun stops its heating impact around 5pm or so.Your track record isn't so hot.Looking at vis sat clearly shows cirrus thinned, thus the 3F jump. Based on your thinking, I have near 100F temperatures to look forward to. I wonder when that will happen?

Geos
Some high clouds made for an interesting shot a little while ago. First picture in regular light, next one was through my sunglasses. Down the road away from the store parking lot.
cyclone77
Some high clouds kept temps down a bit through early afternoon, but still made 93. Sterling hit 95, MLI/DVN both 92. EDIT: Cool looking pics Geos.
cyclone77
Wow the last two Euro runs really squashed out what I thought were gonna be the two hottest days, sun/mon. I'm sure other models will be playing catch up soon and also drop temps. Looks like tomorrow may be our only hope of upper 90s, but debris clouds will probably COC-block us again. Geos
Caught another interesting cloud formation right at sunset. Already dark at 8pm for the most part. 81° currently.
daddylonglegs
Took what may be the hottest bike ride of the summer.. 10 miles and soaking wet/sweat fest... quite a few people out given how warm it is outside. Geos
Pretty cool video I saw posted on Skilling's blog. Showing fog rolling over the mountains in Newfoundland. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=08e_1377093145 18z NAM hires showing showers and clouds late tomorrow morning in the area. Noticed quite a few OFB on that run also. Edit: No wonder my allergies are bothering me today. Mold count was 53,000 mold spores/cubic meter! Edit 2: Skilling toned down the heat in the 7 day forecast. Must have looked at the EURO for next week.

RobertSul
Impressive storms in SE Michigan this morning. Winds were really cranking... I'd estimate between 45-50 MPH with very heavy rainfall. Looks like there's a lot more rain coming, too. Flooding could be a problem in some areas.
Brewers
Looks like we will be dealing with cirrus again this morning, but it should clear out sooner than yesterday. Also the warm start, currently 77, should help. The low of 77 would break a record high min if it holds through the day.
cyclone77
About 5 degrees warmer than this time yesterday. Cirrus shouldn't be quite as much of an issue today, with most of it probably staying just northeast. Point says 96, which sounds about right. May make a run at 100 if we stay completely clear this afternoon. Today will definitely be the hottest day of this stretch, as the weekend looks much cooler now. daddylonglegs
Low of 79F...which beats the record of 74F... This weather is bananas... i'm ready for fall.
Brewers
Scratch that, MKE ended up at 73 for a low. The 6am observation showed a due north wind so I assume an outflow boundary passed though around then. Edit: 73 would still tie the record. Chicago Storm
Low of 77 at ORD would tie the record for the date (1973), if it stands.

wisconsinwx
Low of 77 at ORD would tie the record for the date (1973), if it stands. It will come down to the timing of the frontal passage most likely.

Geos
88° here. Low was 77° also - pending for the day. Noticing some sort of OFB moving south towards Milwaukee currently. Winds are really calm outside, so I'm wondering if a lake breeze will kick off soon.
Jonger
Low of 79F...which beats the record of 74F... This weather is bananas... i'm ready for fall. You could grow bananas out your way.... for today. We got lucky on this side of the lake, I'm not sure this even qualify as a heat wave here. Its uncomfortable, but that's about it.
