wxtrackercody
Via an internal News 9 email, we have learned that Gary England’s final broadcast will be on Friday, August 30th. At that point, Lord England will accept a new role as “Vice President for Corporate Relations and Weather Development” for Griffin Communications. He will be replaced by David “Scream Chamber” Payne. http://www.thelostogle.com/2013/07/23/breaking-news-gary-england-is-leaving-channel-9/
David Reimer
It is worth noting he isn't really leaving the station, simply vacating his on-air chief meteorologist position for more of a development and speaking position. He will still appear with station promotional events.
andyhb
Well at least we don't have to have David yelling "take my stream" constantly anymore...

Thunder Road
Mike Morgan deserves to be let go and instead we lose Gary England.
andyhb
Who gives a flip Probably the majority of the OKC viewing area and meteorological community at the least, to be fair.
LocoAko
Who gives a flip Around here, lots of people. And not just the meteorological community, either. For a humorous glance at how much people care, I refer to The Lost Ogle's Most Influential People in Oklahoma: http://www.thelostogle.com/2009/02/26/the-50-most-powerful-oklahomans-5-1/ 1. Gary England, Meteorologist Some might call it blasphemy to rank Gary ahead of Jesus. Particularly Bill Kumpe. But, we have to call it like we see it. When Jesus tells us to give all of our money to the poor, we figure out a way to convince ourselves that Jesus, a homeless Middle Eastern man, would consider us to be poor and thus let us use our money for Starbucks and LostOgle T-shirts. When Gary England tells us to get in our hidey-hole, though, we ask no questions. We just know to hop in and listen to Gary England. He’ll let us know it’s okay. It is not too often you have an OCM stay at the same station for 40 years.
