CT Rain

Recommended Posts

Happy to be home although DC is certainly one of the worlds great cities albeit strnge at times.

Everyone marveled at how cool it was today and for them I guess it was but it felt warm enough.

Beautiful evening tonight...this fropa is real. Although most guidance has the next 10 days with more above than below around here.

What a difference a week makes.

A week ago I was here at the lake and it was mid 80's and high dews.  I got back to Ct just in time to witness the unbearable swamp-azz conditions of this past Saturday.  Now, I am back at the lake, and the mid day temp was 55F.  Unbelievable.  I still took my evening swim in the lake with my son though.

What lake?

I see Saranac Lake and Lake Placid in the Adirondacks are enjoying a sultry July evening with 48F and 49F respectively.

Coles Pond in Walden VT is at 47F.

CAA clouds and breeze needs to die down if any spots want to tickle the 30s tonight.

Down to 57.9 F here and dropping. I had to drive to SW CT where it was 82 F and humid earlier. We never got much higher than about 72 here today.

Glad the cops are nailing some of those obnoxious NY drivers on route 8 in Otis and Becket since they drive as if they own the road. Saw 2 expensive cars with NY tags on the northbound side nailed by staties.

Suckers!:)

You're outpacing me a bit on the drop.  Regardless, the "dry heat" of Denver wasn't really better than the humid warmth we'd been having back home.  But, my running clothes did dry out in no time on the hotel A/C unit.  The cool air at home will be nice indeed.  I hope my wife didn't close the bedroom windows.....

I was out west in early June and the heat was dry and smokey due to the wildfires. I'd take high dews over smoke anytime. It gets a lot cooler with elevation out west though.

However, I will say the 108° F / 28° F I experienced in SW Utah wasn't as bad as the 92° F / 70° F we had one day in downtown Pittsfield last week.

Wow!!!  I don't know what the dews were the last couple days for me.  It did cool down decently overnight, but not as cool as it will be at home tonight.  Was at Coors statdium last night--went from awfully hot to really comfortable in a matter of minutes as the sun set.  Also, comfy running temps at 5:30a.m.

Just started our initial decent--looks like 240 miles out, about 50 miles west of Ithaca.

BDL hasn't been below 66 degrees in over a month, and it looks like they're about to break that streak before midnight.

That's just hideous.  How cool has it been for you and our friend on the Mastiff these days?  I've only been able to track what was going on at home which looked pretty comfortable (outside of the 3.5" of rain in 8 hours).  Hope you guys got to share in it.

No records in danger...the cold spots have records in the low to mid 30s, and most of the rest of the area is like 35-45F I would imagine...except BTV I could see being closer to 50F, as they have a 70F lake next to them this time of year moderating the records there I bet.

Edit... in Vermont, record lows at BTV look to be mid 40s this time of year (45 today) and low 40s in the interior climate sites like MPV (41F) and Saint Johnsbury (42F).

58/53 right now and it's windy... feels freezing!

Stayed warm and humid through this morning.

do we know what's going on with rev? why is he so quiet. is it because it's chilly tonite

He is sulking from all of the abuse he has received from the mt. Tolland ef5.

Btw, he sent me a new video he took. This removes all doubt, the circulation definitely made it to the surface.

Btw, wiz... Before you ask, I have no idea what street this happened on.

Morning runners are thrilled today.

Hilarious string of Tweets from Dr. Dew Point...

@TollandKev @danburyweather After 32 days of dewmania..they had to break for a day 2..thankfully this season they come right back
@TollandKev Only 1 forecaster had the foresight to call for a 30-60 day period of high dewpoints with no breaks/We just had 33 straight days w/ no break
@TollandKev A one day reprieve today and they come back tomorrow onwards. Another 20-40 day period of dews in the 60's and 70's on the way
@TollandKev @ryanhanrahan HAs it been right all summer with all those fronts and cool shots? Fail after fail

Looks like my low will be 55° (dp 48°) off a high yesterday of 79°.  That's not as refreshing as some places up north but certainly refreshing nonetheless.

Did the Rev really tweet that we'll be back to high dp's after today for 40-60 days?  Sounds like he's backing off his call for months and months of high dews going into November but still.  The climatological clock is ticking now that we are past the apex of summer...
