906 PM EDT SAT JUL 20 2013

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STERLING VIRGINIA HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...

NORTHERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY IN CENTRAL MARYLAND...

CENTRAL HOWARD COUNTY IN CENTRAL MARYLAND...

* UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT

* AT 902 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED

VERY HEAVY RAIN CAPABLE OF PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING. AN ESTIMATED 2

TO 2.5 INCHES HAS ALREADY FALLEN BETWEEN GERMANTOWN AND CLARKSBURG.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 2 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT ARE AFFECTED BY THE HEAVY RAIN INCLUDE BOYDS...

ELLICOTT CITY...GERMANTOWN AND MONTGOMERY VILLAGE.

Nice t-stom moving thru Columbia.  Bubbled up over W-ern MO CO and then it moved east.  And very electrical.

Daytime high here: 96

Current with the storm going:  83

Nice rains but only 0.02" measured so far.

We also had 0.18" yesterday/Friday in an isolated downpour.

Vivid lightning.  Looks like a heavier part of the cell is coming from west before it's done.

You're right... I just saw one land over my house a few mins ago... I guess they changed direction for a bit. Apologies for the misinformation...

No biggie. :)  I just was surprised that they would close the runways for this system. Granted Im not there but it doesnt look that bad on radar.

Recap:  0.13" for the storm, but that's a 2-day total of 0.31".  I'll take it -- and the shrubs are happy.
