ORH_wxman
In the 30 years I've lived around here I've come to find a kind of rule of thumb on big heat is "90 by 9" ...AM of course. Not absolute of course, but more so than not. Yeah its not a bad rule...didn't quite do it today, which is why I'm sort of thinking we fall short of most records (that and the 850 temps but the two are not mutually exclusive). BOS may have enough though with the good wind today.

tamarack
dewpoint_07_19_13a.jpg pretty sick stuff. Wx Hype's pants tent would probably scare the neighbors right now. Baltimore at the top, AWT. Just looked at KNYC temps for July. Thru yest the avg is 81.31, just 0.1F below the 1999 record and 0.02 behind 2010. However, their avg minimum is 74.78, which would eaily top 1908 (73.77) for warmest mornings, and the current #2 (72.62 in 1999) is almost certain to fall. If Central Park is averaging minima of 75 amid the trees, a thermometer on Wall Street would probably be averaging above 80. For minima. Yuck! Baroclinic Zone
Which heat wave was the most impressive in terms of high dews/temps? IMBY they'll likely end up pretty equal. This one was longer with higher dews than the last but the last had higher temps, so far. Today and tomorrow may top the temps though.

CT Rain
i was a line cook in a restaurant. it was so awful. Ugh. I think that was the last year we went to the Cape as a family. We used to do 3 weeks every July but once me and my brother got older and had summer jobs we couldn't do it. At least we got to experience Abu Dhabi on Nantucket Sound.
