Ginx snewx
Saturday looks hot to me. EURO ENS maintain the trough through day 10. At least synoptic rains are back in the picture.
Ginx snewx
As long as you enjoy the swamp that comes back from Wed- day 10I am not sure where you get your information but a couple of wet days with NE winds is not swamp people weather.
moneypitmike
A better starting point than yesterday--69.9 for last night's low compared to 74+ the prior. Progged temp for today is higher than yesterdays 88.9(?) high. 76.6/
Damage In Tolland
I am not sure where you get your information but a couple of wet days with NE winds is not swamp people weather.Ne winds mean nothing in late July. ESP with warm water. It's a humid look long range.

moneypitmike
The fact that we this thread can grow by several pages each day over temps and dewpoints is mind-boggling. People must be really bored these days. Whatever warmth there is today will be muted by the winds anyway. On to other things: I believe today is the climotologically warmest day for many in the region--certainly within 2-3 on either side. We've lost 25 minutes of daylight since the solstice Daily loss today is 1:38. The drumbeats growling louder.
Baroclinic Zone
Euro looks great if you like rain and ne winds at times. Can't wait. We need some more rains after this heat. Shooting for the century mark today. It's been basically 2 years since I cracked it. I hit 98F a year ago.
Baroclinic Zone
Currently 81/75 HI of 87F. Not bad for 8am.

I hit 98F a year ago. It basically hangs the front overhead so 50 miles means everything. Either way, temps more respectable and chances of rain. Tuesday could be rather wet. Tropopause_Fold
today's the first time these advisories / warnings are really necessary. places will cook and the dews will stay quite high.
Tropopause_Fold
Big changes on the Euro..LOL. Can't say anyone should be surprised though. big changes? so finally...finally you agree that the pattern is changing. no more big fat massive heat dome centered over the ohio valley with record high heights. replaced with a trough. Yeah, today will be brutal. It's been borderline all week so I can't blame the NWS for wanting to be cautious.

Tropopause_Fold
dewpoints along the south coast are 75/76 in many spots. that's pretty tough stuff. a spot like EWB today could be mid 90s / mid 70s.
Ginx snewx
yes steve i know. i'm just talking about in the context of NWS verification. i know it's been hot. odd thing is that they missed the highest HI's consistently. Why not just issue a high heat advisory for the entire region. The silliness of the system as Ryan has pointed out is really the issue. Wonder if we are feeling cooler here today than yesterday, there is a breeze. As Pickles pointed out very smartly HI does not take into account wind or clouds both of which make working outside much more tolerable than sunny and still. CapturedNature
Upton going for 100 for BDR...wow. BOX is doing the same for the CT River Valley. CEF, BDL & HFD all have 100 for a forecasted high. PnC has me getting to 98° at my house. We'll see how that does considering I topped out at 90° yesterday. Ginx snewx
The Govt does not tell you this but has it on their Heat index page so add up to 15 degrees if in full sun and no wind he Heat Index (HI) is the temperature the body feels when heat and humidity are combined. The chart below shows the HI that corresponds to the actual air temperature and relative humidity. (This chart is based upon shady, light wind conditions. Exposure to direct sunlight can increase the HI by up to 15°F.)
Ginx snewx
Actually Pickles was wrong, the HI assumes 5 knots of wind. good explanation here http://www.srh.noaa.gov/images/ffc/pdf/ta_htindx.PDF
