Normally, you might expect widespread upper 90s today with the hot start, but I'll be surprised if we see that. Maybe some 96s in the usual downslope torch spots...esp lower CT river and maybe SW CT where ML temps are a bit warmer. The rest  of us are generally in that 18-19C 850 temp range which makes it tough to get widespread >95+.

Good call... 96 BDL and HFD.

Great. My son is still camping in S NH

No AC/cooling.

There is a nice lake. He is sleeping in a shelter he made out of sticks tonight. Yuck

It always cools off some in the Monadnocks though, and young kids tend to enjoy summer even if it's hot. I remember going to philadelphia for tennis camp when I was ten, and we were playing 5-6 hours a day in 100F weather with no A/C in the dorms. It was miserable but I had one of the best weeks of my life anyway.

He'll never go camping again.

Well--at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I think tomorrow is the day that I'll hit 90.  Got up to 88.4 at 1:30p.m. today.

78.6/70

link? curious

The funny part of arguing this is that ginxy today the areas just north of the sea breeze in ct and ri had full sun and light winds so i can PROMISE that the body's cooling system would fail faster in that exposure (wether HI was 104 or whatever) then if it was 3 degrees hotter and HI was over 105 but under cloudy skies and windy conditions. They are working w a index that doesnt account for sun or winds which obviously the nws realizes but i guess scoring correctly on a somewhat flawed index to measure reel feel heat trumps getting the message out to the elderly?

Where in Philly for tennis camp?  Many tennis camps under my belt...

Downtown Baltimore obs 9pm. 90F dew 80F. Not a good night for sleeping for all those poor people in row houses!

Sounds like heaven to a couple of posters and h*** to the rest of us.

I must be getting used to the heat because I was out a little while ago and it didn't feel too bad if I wasn't moving.  You could actually feel the heat difference between the yard and rocks in the yard.

yep the HI at work was 109 and I pointed out we were in the worst possible position, high dews no seabreeze. As far as HI goes I am curious about the research Phil posted.
