ER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WILL BE UNAVAILABLE THROUGH EARLY AUGUST. A MAJOR HARD

even HYA and CHH are down into the 70s now. helps to have the southerly flow moving over a larger region and not just a stale light seabreeze. it'll cook tomorrow with 250/260 to start the day but feels pretty good right now.

This is like Ray's beast of a man analogy to me. I need it to stop.

john, you're a smart guy. but i feel bad for you.

hopefully there's a sonoran heat release soon to make you a happier person.

Whatever dude -- the feeling could not be more mutual when you pop off boorish comments and then try to hide behind "banter".

I never accused you of low self esteem and all that other bullschit -- I said I don't like you as a poster, and when you say the former, I have good reason.   Thanks for making my case.

Just block me please.  I'm trying to figure out how to block you but I think I may puke if I ever read another word that comes out of your f keyboard

kevin will  at this post, but it was actually "cool" last night i thought. i went out at 10 to walk the dog and then again at about 5:30 am and it felt way cooler than the previous mornings. dropping the dews yesterday helped a lot with the addition of the light wind / clear sky last night...

Yeah, this really blows. Radar coverage from BGM and OKX really doesn't cut it around here. CBS 6 in Albany used to have their own instant doppler radar, but it doesn't appear as if they do anymore.

Just watch, there will likely be at least one significant convective outbreak while it's down producing severe weather. Who knows, I wonder if this means we get a 1995 Great Barrington or 1973 West Stockbridge type tornado (both EF-4) around here while it's down? You know how that goes...

We had a localized cooldown at my house as a shower rolled through around 8pm last night. Could feel how cool it was when I rolled ino Weymouth after work. I realize any wind south of 090 won't really cut it unless it's blowing a good 15kts. However, any wind with a NE component rockets right into my hood. There is nothing stopping the wind coming in from Mass Bay.

How's the water temp at Coast Guard Beach?  Love it there and Marconi...

PVD is the only one who has not as of 4pm, we did not hit 90 here at work either 88 was the max, south winds now are dropping the temps down to 85[/size]

There was an 89F in between hours at 18Z. Slight chance they had a brief spike to 90F after the temp fall.

Rick Logan said this, he lives in Knox

TV stations here have their own which could be used at substitutes.  Google WRGB  CBS 6, and WNYT 13....   There might be links to their in-house radars.

If we get there tomorrow do you think we would get a 4 day heatwave?

Probably. Friday looks like maybe a half degree warmer at 850.,,but its still sem-marginal. You can "ruin" it if you get too many clouds in the afternoon. I usually like to see solid +19 to +20C 850 temps for forecasting >90F at ORH.

I'd have to check to see the last time we had a 4 day heat wave in ORH...its been a long time I think. My guess would be 1950s, though perhaps the summer of '83 did it.

Does this mean you are prone to changeover or far enough inland to be ok come winter?

I'm prone like any coastal community. I think overall I'll do a wee bit better for a couple of reasons. I'm a little higher than I was in Dorchester, A bit further inland when we have those easterly 2-3" glop storms, decent OES area, sneaky south of pike deals, and no urban heat island. Downfall is that we had a few storms where the coastal front set up in between weymouth and dorchester...but they still did great here. The ocean is about 1.5-1.8 miles or so to my north and northeast. There isn't any land to stop the wind as I'm one of the higher points away from the water so it should be good in a storm. My guess is we avg similar to where I used to live..give or take an inch or two.

Cool, tried to get an idea on your location.

Last winter was a large difference from here to the area in Weymouth. Interestingly, the COOP station in Hingham 3 miles inland averages more snow than Logan. So you should be good.

cold.

i don't really know. probably 60-ish. maybe if you catch the tide right it's a little warmer than that.

you'll get these days where people "swear it's 70!" but...nah. just cold.

Better than 55 I guess, but that's still a bit chilly, lol.  Did you grow up on the Cape or move there?

It should have been similar. You and them had similar amounts in the big storms.
