Ian
Played golf today. Tee off was 12:20. It was hot but nothing of note. This heat wave is lame. The summer of under performing heat. today performed pretty well around here. think we hit the top end of any guidance that is trusted.

wxmeddler
88/70 at 11 is pretty solid Just so happens that the 16th is the record July high-min (whole year?-checking) with 84. We're probably not going to bust that. edit: the record high-min for the whole year @dca is the July 16th (tied with July 23 + 24).

wxmeddler
84 is all time record....done 3 times....pretty wimpy though...even ORD put up an 85 in pre-UHI era D*mn the midwest and their continental airmasses.
Ian
The 84 is primed to go. Tho being right on the river might hurt there. Either way DCA has been piling up the 80+ lows lately.. used to almost never have them.

wxmeddler
Holy Sh*t.. That is a huge area without water. Including Andrews AFB and National Harbor. It sounds like from the press conference that this is a big deal. 3-5 days without public water and that's "best case". PG OEM is opening up also. Ian
easily..maybe even 100 yeah maybe if we get the right winds and clouds stay away. 850s are a smidge cool for much confidence there. usually +10 from 10a is a safe bet tho.

nw baltimore wx
I'm not in town this week but I read an AP article related to the northeast heat wave and apparently PG county has seceded from MD? "Despite temperatures expected to reach between 100 and 105 degrees every day this week, a failing water main means people in Prince George's County, Wash. will have to go several days without water."
