Its been questionable whether we dry and cool off for a few days this weekend ahead of the heat later next week. Our concern has been if front hangs up over us this weekend which seems like maybe it has some merit

the front moves through. i was referring to the period after that.

I just opine that when push comes to shove front doesn't get as far south as some think it will . I have doubts on 70's and sunny all weekend

well i have doubts on 70s and sunny all weekend too. that would be quite a cool shot for mid-july.

but dews coming down into the 50s-low 60s and temps in the 70s/80s is likely i think.

Here's some shots of the cell over Cheshire....obviously not severe but one if the better views I've had of a storm.....she's still growling too....

Nice shots.

Quite the deluge in NE Berkshire.....warning cites up to 3" down with up to 2" more possible.  Just drops from that making it this far east.

73.8/70

Yeah all that ... but for NE zones?   This is a classic air mass the atmosphere forgot, scenario.

Basically, it invaded with saturable BL last yesterday, then cooled and festered into a strata deck overnight, and because the surrounding medium is weak with forcing the air mass is now stagnated.  There really isn't anything to keep it here; there's just nothing to take it out.

I'm glad though.  I'm willing to pass on the sun if it means keeping temps in the 74 range.
