CT Rain

Recommended Posts

Remember when we talked about the south coast getting crazy dewpoints because of wind off the water and lack of mixing? Check out the TDs from PVC through the CT coast. Mid 70s.

And it's brutal just off the ocean near the coastal ponds, mosquitoes the size of birds, you basically have to be in the ocean to get relief.

Dude, what do you expect, she's so f hot... what a babe!

annnywho... speaking of hot, stick a fork in me, I'm done. I want winter. this sucks.

I always felt bad for inland folks when I lived on the beach in summer and now know why. There is little relief. I do enjoy the spoils of inland winter but in the summer I miss SRI tremendously, luckily I can be on my beach spot in Weekapaug in under 45 minutes.

Pattern is persistent and only speculative ATT but an active and soon to be "heating" up tropical season portrays damage of epic, biblical proportions for the East Coast going forth. Just getting the hype of '38 on the table.

Trying to get a jump start on Kevin?

I'm in Arlington for the w/e for wedding.  What was last nights low temp at your house?  At midnight it was still brutal.

South coast of where? None in RI yesterday

i gaurantee if they are in westport that they are in newport.

Reminds me of being in south beach fl, 92/75 (dp) little breeze , running toward 82 f water to "cool off" then i see the floating blueish plastic bags (man o war) near surface of water, usually see them with relatively small (one foot or so) tentacles but that would stop u in ur tracks from having much fun in water. Also anyone that knows they get stung by man o war , DO NOT let anyone put vinegar or ammonia or fresh water on the stung area! (Thats for jellyfish) for man o war , remove any tentacles from skin then apply hot salt water or a hot/warm object. Fresh water ammonia and vinegar or massaging area cause release of more venom in man o war stings! (While it can be helpful for jellyfish stings) man o war are not considered jellyfish. Ok rant over

92 and beautifully oppressive

There is nothing to enjoy unless your ass is in the water.

Enjoying the sun, the life giving sun. I'm marveling how it can be like this now but nearly 100F colder 7 months from now. Nature is awesome! Discomfort may be a price but worth it to me.

If I was poolside or beachside I would, but it isn't fun to shut the house down and instantly sweat outdoors. 10 degrees colder would still offer great life giving sun.

Looking around at area obs.... there appears to have evolved a heat trough.  Winds in western New England have backed a bit now WNW, where it is still SW back here in the east.  DPs out there have dropped into the mid 60s, while low 70s persist out ahead of the trough.  These heat troughs do that, because once the wind backs N of W, the transport is a drier origin, so you get a quasi dry-line associated.   Hi Res Satellite shows a rather abrupt reduction in the CU field entering W-N regions, outside of oriographic forcing.

Won't mean much for temperatures, but we might just evacuate some DPs.

FWIW - the 12z SPC WRF and the 15z RPM showed convective initiation around Great Barrington near 2 p.m. and develop the storms into a pretty impressive cluster as it moves south into CT. Worth watching but right now these things are having trouble.
