That cell has some really fantastic lightning in it....it's shooting bolts out the side into clear air....friggin bad azz at night....

Ive been watching it all evening from my deck... Im in newington, and it looks like its right over Westfarms.  Its so weird with the lightening firing on the cloud edge just adjacent to the clear starry sky..  Great show!

It is a great show....thing is its over Wallingford now.....cloud structure was really something when those bolts inside the cell illuminated it from inside.....those side strikes where you get a fork right into clear air or where it seems to "crawl" along the anvil up high were most entertaining.....what a bunch of nerds we are.....

I was in Mansfield earlier tonight and when we left I could see the top of the cell that was just southeast of Taunton, MA.....I told my wife look there's an anvil and she said WTF....I said here let's check RadarScope I bet that storm is over Mass.....sure enough.....she couldn't believe it....great structure with that storm too

It stayed in the 70's all day yesterday..and last week. Maybe this week it happens but we'll need some decent west winds..We'll see

Well it should be hottest week of the summer. Later this weekend into early next week should be a nice break. After that there are signs of a wetter pattern, but a pattern featuring wave fronts to the west and also southeast.

Still mainly AOA temperature wise. This is a hot summer not in temperature extremes but in consistency of AOA.

Interesting observation:  Water temps in Cape Cod bay are 79 degrees.

 

This is so far off the chart for anything even close to normal for mid July it's not even funny.  We were at the beach last night and it was bath water.
